Namhansanseong

I hiked a fantastic fortress the other day. It is in Seongnam, mostly. Actually its absolutely huge. I hiked most of the day, and went down the wrong side of the mountain and wound up in the city of Gwangju. The fortress is very different than the one in Suwon, which completely filled with city: Namhansanseong is filled only with trees. There are many temples and what not on the ascent up. It was one of the most enjoyable hikes that I have yet been on in Korea.

Canada Day

I had a fantastic Canada Day. People take it very seriously here, probably because we are so homesick. It was a wonderful feeling to be in a bar full of Canadians speaking Enlish (and French bien sur). We went to the Rocky Mountian Tavern and ate poutine for supper. It was also a nice opportunity to meet some new people. The pics hardly capture the atmosphere but the Rocky has 2 floors, both packed, and the hair is from some girls doing a jig to Great Big Sea.
